The Wrangeler

The Wrangeler is the first truly drop-in AK platform assisted reset trigger, AND in a cassette form factor. We are very excited to bring to market our Patent Pending Assisted Reset Trigger with Next Generation Assisted Reset Technology. Given the nature of its Forward Reset Bias, which indexes off the back of the carrier using the Reset Initiated Out-of-battery Safety (RIOS) bar, optimal function is reliant on the exact geometry of the receiver and its component parts. We all know that AKs vary quite a bit between manufacturers, models and production runs. Loose tolerances and tolerance stacking can even introduce significant differences between adjacent serial numbers, something that we’ve seen multiple times during our research and development. To that end, we are introducing four initial versions of the Wrangeler:

We have tested The Wrangeler in lots of guns from a wide variety of manufacturers and periods of production. From this, we have drawn up a list of platforms where we are confident they will work, and work well, with our trigger. See the comprehensive, and evolving, list below.

As you will appreciate, it is impossible for us to test all models from all manufacturers – or even a large number of samples of a single model and manufacturer. There are just too many of them. We are, therefore, planning to release tuning kits (both RIOS bars and springs) to allow individual customization and refining for the very best performance. We will also welcome feedback on what customers find works well or needs a bit of tweaking. Let us know what you find! And, as always, keep your gun clean and well lubed for the biggest smiles. Once we can replicate and verify, we’ll add them to the above list and, where possible, reward the customer with some goodies.

Current formal torture testing demonstrates consistent operation exceeding 5000 rounds between multiple test samples. Further results to follow the release.

Note: the Wrangeler only works with the included selector. We have stuck to the traditional Soviet manual of arms, whereby, the top position is safe, bottom position is standard semi auto and middle position is Assisted Reset (Enhanced Semi Auto). This may mean that some receivers don’t have the middle dimple for the selector and the user will need to determine whether the ability of the selector to hold position is sufficient for their needs. Also, a few receivers have a tab at the bottom position that will need to be removed to allow true 3 position functionality.
